Roads Minister Kwame Agbodza has reaffirmed the government's commitment to tackling severe flooding in Ketu South through long-term protective measures.
Following a visit by President Mahama and key ministers to affected communities, Agbodza stressed that rather than declaring a state of emergency, efforts should focus on constructing the sea defence project to safeguard residents.
He assured that the government is mobilizing resources to provide relief and implement sustainable solutions.
In line with this, President Mahama has directed Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson to allocate funds for phase two of the Blekusu Sea Defence Project, aimed at preventing future tidal waves and flooding in the Volta Region.
