A man's lifeless body was found in the Susan River. He is believed to be in his 40s. The body was retrieved after heavy rain on Tuesday evening.
Residents discovered the unidentified man on Wednesday morning. He had reportedly been swept away by floodwaters.
People living near the river in Kings Down saw the body floating. It was partially submerged in the water.
Witnesses say they saw the man intoxicated before the rains began. They believe he drowned as a result of the flooding.
The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) recovered the body from the river. It has been taken to a morgue for further examination. An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
