Mobile Money robbery suspect remanded into police custody

The Nalerigu District Court in the North East Region has remanded Waliu Fazazi. He is in police custody for his alleged role in a mobile money robbery at Bunkpurugu.

On April 23, 2025, Fazazi and other accomplices robbed a mobile money vendor. They stole GH₵300,000.00 during the incident.

Investigations show that Fazazi approached the vendor to withdraw GH₵15,000.00. He claimed it was a transfer from his brother but had network issues.

While they talked, two masked men appeared. One was armed and demanded the vendor’s cash bag. They fired warning shots and fled on a motorbike.

Fazazi appeared in court on April 25, 2025, and was remanded into custody. He will return to court on May 9, 2025.

The police are asking the public for help. They seek information to arrest the remaining suspects who are still at large.
