Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Agotime, Volta Region, staged a symbolic funeral to mark the defeat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 7 elections.
Dressed in traditional black and red funeral attire, participants performed rites symbolizing the "burial" of the NPP's administration.
The event combined satire and tradition, featuring mock coffins with inscriptions highlighting grievances against the NPP's governance.
Amid chants, dirges, and traditional drumming, attendees celebrated what they viewed as the electorate’s rejection of the ruling party.
The symbolic ceremony underscored the region's political sentiment, showcasing their elation over the NDC's electoral victory.
