Nana Kobina Nketsia V named President of Western Regional House of Chiefs

After five years of leadership deadlock, the Western Regional House of Chiefs has unanimously nominated Nana Kobina Nketsia V, Paramount Chief of Essikado, as its new President.

Nana Kwesi Agyemang of Lower Dixcove was also named Vice President.

This decision resolves long-standing disputes that stalled progress and left the region without representation at the National House of Chiefs.

Lands and Natural Resources Minister Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, during his visit, pledged to work closely with traditional leaders to address land and mining issues.

Chiefs who had taken legal action over leadership disputes have agreed to withdraw their cases.

Regional Minister Joseph Nelson welcomed the move, describing it as a turning point for unity and development in the region.
