Reverend Martin Prince Korbla Amenaki has been confirmed as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North. All 52 assembly members endorsed him with a unanimous vote of 100%.
The confirmation occurred on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Municipal Assembly Hall. Rev. Amenaki sees this as a “new dawn” for Ketu North. He envisions hope, partnership, and accelerated development for the community.
In his inaugural address, Rev. Amenaki expressed gratitude and humility. He called his appointment a divine calling and a serious responsibility. “God Almighty has ushered our beautiful Ketu North into a new dawn,” he stated.
He outlined an ambitious vision to reset Ketu North for comprehensive development. This vision emphasizes collective participation and community-driven leadership.
Rev. Amenaki acknowledged various challenges facing the municipality. These include economic constraints and infrastructural deficits. He stressed the importance of unity among residents to overcome these issues.
“This task requires collective effort and active participation from everyone,” he said. The MCE plans to work closely with Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, Ketu North’s Member of Parliament. He described Agbana as a dynamic leader crucial for transformation.
Rev. Amenaki assured residents that their development plan aligns with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto led by former President John Dramani Mahama.
His development plan focuses on six main pillars:
1. Economic Empowerment: Youth employment, entrepreneurship, agricultural modernization, and attracting investment.
2. Educational Advancement: Improving access to quality education and investing in infrastructure.
3. Healthcare Accessibility: Expanding medical facilities and promoting preventive care.
4. Infrastructural Development: Upgrading roads, sanitation systems, clean water access, and reliable electricity.
5. Social Inclusion and Equity: Advocating for marginalized groups and ensuring equal opportunities.
6. Good Governance and Transparency: Maintaining open dialogue with citizens and ensuring accountability.
The new MCE pledged to lead transparently while listening to community needs. He urged all political divides be set aside for unity and progress.
“Let us build the Ketu North we want together,” he said passionately.
With visible emotion, Rev. Amenaki thanked assembly members for their trust in him. He promised to justify their confidence through action and integrity.
He also recognized traditional authorities, civil servants, and residents for their support during this journey ahead.
“The road will have challenges,” he concluded optimistically, “but I am determined to overcome them with you.”
As Ketu North begins this new chapter in leadership, residents eagerly await the implementation of Rev. Amenaki’s ambitious plans.
