Newly confirmed North Tongu DCE vows to prioritise development and improve lives

Madam Victoria Amefadzi Yawa Doe is the new District Chief Executive (DCE) for North Tongu. She is one of the few female nominees in the Volta region. Madam Doe is committed to driving development in the district. She plans to prioritize critical sectors and address urgent needs.

During her official assumption of office, she spoke about politics. She believes it should focus on development and meeting people's needs. Madam Doe pledged to support President John Dramani Mahama's inclusive development agenda for North Tongu.

She stated, “I am committed to working diligently with all stakeholders.” Together, they will tackle pressing challenges in the district. She wants meaningful change for the people of North Tongu.

Madam Doe acknowledged significant challenges in education, healthcare, water and sanitation, and road infrastructure. Addressing these issues requires unity and collaboration among all community members.

She urged chiefs, queens, assembly members, and NPP party members to join her efforts. “Together, we can improve the quality of life for our people,” she said.

The DCE outlined several important initiatives aligned with the government's vision for North Tongu:

1. Resettlement for Akosombo Dam Spillage Victims: She highlighted the need for relief and resettlement for families affected by dam spillage.

2. Revival of Juapong Textile Factory: Madam Doe aims to work with ministries to revitalize this factory to create jobs.

3. Construction of Dofor-Adidome Bridge: This bridge will improve transportation and access between Dofor, Adidome, and nearby communities.

4. Establishment of a Satellite Campus of UHAS: She is committed to bringing higher education opportunities closer to residents.

“These projects are not just political promises; they are lifelines,” she assured her audience.

Madam Doe called for unity among all sectors in the district. She encouraged traditional leaders, political actors, and community members to focus on development over partisan interests.

“Our people deserve better,” she stated. With a shared vision, they can build a thriving North Tongu full of opportunities.

Her confirmation as DCE has been welcomed by many in the district. Residents look forward to accelerated development and better representation under her leadership.

Her tenure is expected to bring visible infrastructure improvements and social interventions that empower grassroots communities.
