Offer good governance and improved development - Ahafo Minister tells MMDCEs

Charity Ghardinar, the Ahafo Regional Minister, addressed Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs). She reminded them to fulfill the trust placed in them by the President. They should promote good governance and development in their assemblies.

Ghardinar emphasized that MMDCEs represent the President's programs locally. Their successes or failures impact both the government and the political party.

During a swearing-in ceremony on Thursday in Goaso, she urged appointees to follow President John Mahama's development agenda. This aims to improve residents' living conditions.

All six nominees were sworn in as MMDCEs after receiving strong endorsements from local assemblies. The new appointees are:

- Dauda Hafiz Dabell, DCE of Asutifi North
- Benjamin Donkor Assabil, DCE of Asutifi South
- Sampson Pius Opoku, MCE of Tano North
- Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, MCE of Tano South
- Joseph Yinka, DCE of Asunafo South
- Benjamin Akparibo, MCE of Asunafo North

President John Mahama nominated them according to Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution. This was also guided by the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) and its amendments.

In a letter dated March 23, 2025, Armed Ibrahim urged all nominees to serve with humility and commitment. He represented the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.

The Regional Minister thanked traditional authorities in Ahafo for their support. She expressed her willingness to engage and collaborate with them.

Dauda Hafiz Dabell committed to improving key sectors in his area. These include economic empowerment, community roads, health services, water sanitation, and rural development.

Benjamin Donkor Assabil encouraged his fellow appointees to prioritize NDC grassroots members' well-being. He believes this is essential for maintaining peace within the party.
