Oti Region confirms all 9 MDCE nominees

All nine municipal and district assemblies in the Oti Region confirmed the President's nominees for Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs).

Seven nominees received 100 percent of the votes. The other two averaged 82.5 percent.

The nominees who received full support are Eric Kwaku Oppong from Biakoye, Dr. Samuel Suraj Oppong from Kadjebi, and Martin Kofi Anato from Krachi Nchumuru.

Others include Safo Nketia from Krachi East, Prosper Addo from Krachi West, Joseph Antwi from Nkwanta-South, and Isaiah Dordoe from Nkwanta North.

Parke-Davis Magyigbe, DCE of Jasikan, scored 86 percent. Mr. Godfried Koffie of Guan received 79 percent.

Before confirming the MDCEs, all government appointees were sworn in by a Judge. This ensured a full House for voting. They also elected their Presiding Members (PM).

Oti Regional Minister John Kwadwo Gyapong attended each assembly meeting. He urged assembly members to vote responsibly for regional development.

He emphasized that development starts at the district level. He encouraged members to set aside partisan politics when voting.

“Our region has rich natural and human resources,” he said. These can help with socio-economic development.

Mr. Gyapong described the Oti Region as a "baby." He called for unity to drive total development forward.

“Development does not favor any political party,” he stated. He urged everyone to work together for the region's success.

In his acceptance speech, Eric Kwaku Oppong thanked assembly members for their support.

Mr. Oppong invited all stakeholders, including traditional authorities, to help address local challenges.

He assured everyone that his doors would remain open for collaboration on government programs and policies.
