Over 20 houses torched in Gumyoko amid Bawku chieftaincy conflict spillover

Last night, unknown assailants burned down at least 12 houses. This incident occurred in the Gumyoko community of the Binduri District. It is part of a long-standing chieftaincy conflict in nearby Bawku.

According to JoyNews security sources, similar attacks happened three days earlier. These incidents have destroyed over 20 houses in total.

Residents left the Gumyoko community nearly a month ago. They fled due to repeated attacks on their homes. The assailants took advantage of the empty settlement to burn properties.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with these attacks.
