Following a petition from two youth groups, the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has instructed Ghana Water Limited (GWL) to provide a timeline for addressing the ongoing water crisis in the Krobo area.
The petition, submitted by the Kloma Gbi and Kloma Hengme groups, highlights the disruption in water supply, which has lasted for six months due to road construction on the Somanya-Odumase-Kpong road.
The PURC, in a letter dated January 14, requested that GWL outline its actions to resolve the issue within five days.
A team from the commission is set to visit the affected communities to assess the situation and engage with locals.
Community leaders have expressed frustration at the lack of response and called for equitable water distribution in the area.
