Police investigate shooting incident at Adventist SHS in Kumasi

The Ashanti Regional Police Command is investigating a shooting at Adventist Senior High School in Kumasi.

This incident happened on Friday.

According to the police, a 16-year-old student brought a homemade pistol to school. The gun was loaded with one BB ammunition.

The student tried to show the firearm to a classmate. During this, the gun accidentally discharged and hit another student.

The injured student received treatment at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He is now in stable condition.

The police have arrested the juvenile suspect. They recovered an empty cartridge as evidence.

During questioning, the suspect said he took the gun from his father's bedroom without permission.

Authorities are working to locate and arrest the father for further investigation.
