The Chief of Nyinahini, Nana Amanpene Boateng Twum II, demands justice. He wants military officers arrested for the death of a local youth.
He insists these officers should face legal consequences.
At a meeting with Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe and MP Seth Osei Akoto, he expressed his concerns. He believes the altercation did not justify shooting.
"Why shoot someone for wearing army camouflage?" he asked. The victim even joked about removing his trousers instead of the shirt. He insists those responsible must be arrested.
This call follows the alleged shooting of 37-year-old Kwame Lala for wearing military attire. Four others were injured during a clash between local youth and military personnel.
DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe stated that police are investigating the incident. He assured the community that offenders will be held accountable.
He urged the youth to remain calm while they work on arrests.
The family of Kwame Lala is seeking justice for their loss. Lala leaves behind a wife and eight children.
Two injured victims have been discharged from the hospital and are recovering well.
