Youth from the Savannah Region have petitioned the Yagbonwura of the Gonja Kingdom, urging him to ensure that qualified indigenes of the region are appointed to key positions in President-elect John Mahama's upcoming administration.
They criticized past appointees from the region who, they claim, neglected the area's development.
The group emphasized that the region remains one of the least developed in Ghana and expressed concerns that the appointment of "selfish" politicians could hinder progress.
They called on the Yagbonwura to advocate for leaders who will prioritize the region’s needs.
The King assured the youth of his support for Mahama's leadership, encouraging unity and prayers for the president-elect’s success.
