Tension is rising in Danfa, near Aburi in the Eastern Region, as military personnel have been deployed to secure a parcel of land claimed by Chinese companies Royal Land Trust Limited and Gold Plus Properties Limited.
The soldiers are allegedly preventing workers from Ghanaian estate developers Juttap Limited and Modex Oil Company Limited from accessing the site, sparking concerns of a potential land grab.
The developers, who assert their legal ownership of the land, have appealed to the Chief of Defense Staff and the Ghana Armed Forces to investigate the military’s involvement and alleged ties to the Chinese firms.
Residents fear the conflict could disrupt livelihoods and harm community stability.
The Ghana Armed Forces has yet to address the issue, deepening local uncertainty and anxiety.
