A buffer stock warehouse in Tamale was looted by unknown thieves, leading to the theft of critical food supplies intended for the School Feeding Program.

The raid, which occurred on Friday, January 3, 2025, saw thieves empty the warehouse of essential items such as beans, corn, oil, and mackerel.

The theft has caused significant disruption to the program, which supports schools across the region.

There are suspicions that party foot soldiers may be involved, as the incident coincided with the post-election period following the NPP's defeat in the presidential race.

SHS headmasters and CHASS members visited the site, finding empty shelves and signs of forced entry. Four suspects have been arrested, and police are pursuing the remaining culprits. Investigations are ongoing.
