What started as a tragedy is becoming a story of hope. This change is due to Gabriel Kwamigah Atokple Tanko, a Council of State representative from the Volta region.
Mr. Tanko leads the Tanko Foundation. Recently, they presented GH₵35,000.00 to a family in need. The family has twin daughters facing serious medical issues.
The funds were deposited directly into the parents' bank accounts. This money will help cover urgent medical costs and long-term care for the girls.
For this family, the support brings financial relief and hope. They feel reassured that they are not alone in their struggle.
“These girls have suffered enough,” Mr. Tanko said during the handover. “This is about justice and standing up for lives that matter.”
He emphasized that as a nation, we must not ignore children in pain. “We must act,” he urged.
The twin sisters are now known as “the girls of grace.” Their journey has inspired many and highlighted issues in healthcare.
Born into misfortune, their case raises concerns about medical negligence. It has sparked calls for reform and better support for affected families.
The Tanko Foundation aims to raise awareness about medical accountability. “Medical negligence is inexcusable,” they stated.
“Every life deserves care and diligence,” they added. The Foundation called for improvements in health systems across the country.
They also expressed gratitude for the community's support during this critical time. The generosity shown has been described as a lifeline for the family.
As their story spreads, compassion grows within the community. Leaders, faith groups, and citizens are encouraged to take action like Mr. Tanko did.
