The Asogoi State has destooled Togbe Afiatsoa III. This decision came from the Agbogbomefia, Togbe Afede XIV. The destoolment was due to disrespect and misconduct.
On April 17, 2025, chiefs and elders gathered in Ho. They performed customary rites at the Asogli Traditional Council. This included pouring libation and slaughtering a ram to inform the gods.
The ceremony confirmed that Togbe Afiatsoa III is no longer a chief. He will now be known as Frederick Yao Akordor.
Togbe Adu Bobi IV spoke to the media about this action. He said Mr. Akordor showed arrogance after his installation in June 2023. He believed Togbe Afede should serve under him.
Mr. Akordor thought he was the overlord of Ho Bankoe. He assumed that because "Mankrado" means "Dutor," he owned the town. This assumption led him to believe Togbe Afede needed his permission for duties.
Togbe Adu Bobi IV emphasized this had never happened before. He explained that according to customs, Togbe Afede is served first during rituals. This shows he is the superior authority in Asogli State.
He also mentioned that Mr. Akordor published defamatory statements about Togbe Afede. These statements distorted Asogli culture and chieftaincy lineage.
Mr. Akordor ignored advice from elders and refused invitations to resolve issues peacefully.
Togbe Adu Bobi IV stated they tried many times to discuss matters with him. However, Mr. Akordor chose to go public instead of resolving things privately.
Ultimately, Togbe Afede decided enough was enough regarding Mr. Akordor's behavior. Therefore, he can no longer work with him as a chief.
