Twifo Praso: 2 men who reportedly murdered seamstress after a 'for girls' juju failed remanded

Two men, Richard Armah, 28, and Isaac Arhin, 24, were remanded in police custody. They are connected to the murder of Zenabu Tahiru, a 21-year-old seamstress. The incident occurred in Twifo Praso, Central Region.

Armah and Arhin appeared before the Twifo Praso District Court on May 7, 2025. This was their first court appearance after their arrest on May 5.

The courtroom was crowded with community members seeking justice for Zenabu.

Zenabu's body was found on April 3, 2025. It had a cloth tied around her neck and bloodstains on her hands. Her body was discovered in her room at Kokoase, a suburb of Twifo Praso.

Investigators found several items at the scene: a super glue container, a used condom wrapper, and an apple.

DCOP Abraham Acquaye, the Central North Regional Police Commander, shared details about the case. He said Armah had shown interest in Zenabu but she rejected him.

Arhin then introduced Armah to a spiritualist for a ritual to win Zenabu's affection. This ritual is commonly known as "for girls."

When the ritual failed, DCOP Acquaye stated that Arhin and the spiritualist went to Zenabu's home. They allegedly sexually assaulted her and murdered her when they thought she recognized them.

Afterward, they took Zenabu's mobile phone and gave it to Armah for safekeeping.

Police tracked Zenabu's phone which led to Armah’s arrest. During questioning, he implicated Arhin which resulted in his arrest too.

DCOP Acquaye assured residents that investigations are progressing well. He urged the public to remain calm and requested any information that could help with the investigation.
