Two dead, others injured in Juaso-Nkawkaw Highway crash

Two people have died in a tragic accident on the Accra-Kumasi highway. Several others were injured in the incident.

Eyewitness Atta Pascaa told Adom News about the crash. It involved two trailer trucks. One truck, with registration number 11 JN 2972, was traveling from Accra to Burkina Faso. The other truck, registration GT 8212-10, was heading from Kumasi to Accra.

The two vehicles collided head-on. The driver and mate of the Kumasi-bound trailer died instantly. The driver and mate of the Burkina Faso-bound truck were injured. They were rushed to Juaso Government Hospital for treatment. The deceased bodies were taken to Yawkwei morgue.

Emergency teams responded quickly to the scene. Teams from Juaso Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD), Ambulance Service, and Ghana National Fire Service arrived promptly.

In a related incident nearby, another trailer suffered brake failure. This caused an additional crash involving registration number 2389 D 03.

Authorities are currently investigating the causes of both accidents.
