Unstable power disrupting water supply – Ghana Water Limited

Ghana Water Limited (GWL) reports that unstable power supply affects its operations in the Volta Region.

Power outages and low voltages hinder three treatment plants from supplying water.

Ransford Nii Djan Amoo, the Volta Regional Production Manager, signed a communique. He noted that Kpando and Agordome plants faced power issues on May 3, 2025. This led to a temporary halt in production.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) responded quickly to restore power in Kpando and Sogakofe districts. However, challenges with power supply continue.

Production has resumed at the Kpando and Agordome treatment plants, thanks to ECG's efforts.

Unfortunately, the Kpeve Water Treatment Plant encountered unbalanced voltage on May 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM. This issue prevented the plant from treating water for supply.

Amoo stated that ECG personnel are working hard to fix this problem. Normal production will resume once the issue is resolved.

GWL apologizes for any inconvenience caused to the public. They assure everyone that measures are being taken for uninterrupted water supply. Regular updates will be provided as needed.
