Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has called on the government to urgently construct a sea defence wall at Gbegbesie-Shiabu in Dansoman to protect residents from destructive tidal waves.

In an interview with 3news.com, she lamented the severe impact of rising tides, which have displaced families and threatened key infrastructure, including roads and homes.

“The sea has engulfed areas where we campaigned in 2020. Without urgent action, more communities will be devastated,” she warned.

Owusu-Ekuful revealed that the project’s paperwork is complete but awaits funding approval. She stressed that delays could result in the loss of lives, property, and vital infrastructure.

The MP vowed to persist until the project begins, as Dansoman residents live in constant fear of further destruction.

The community urgently awaits government intervention.
