Volta Council of State representative applauds Republic Bank’s commitment to regional development

Gabriel Kwamigah Atokple Tanko, the Volta Region’s representative on the Council of State, praised Republic Bank Ghana. He highlighted their commitment to regional development through investments in agriculture and healthcare.

His comments followed a visit from Dr. Benjamin Dzoboku, Managing Director of Republic Bank Ghana. The meeting with Volta Regional Minister James Gunu aimed to explore collaboration for agricultural transformation and economic empowerment.

Atokple Tanko noted that this initiative shows a shift towards inclusive national development. He stated, “Republic Bank is showing Corporate Ghana what it means to be a development partner.” Their focus on agriculture and health reflects their commitment to improving lives beyond profit.

During discussions, Mr. Gunu identified urgent support needs in agricultural mechanisation and rice cultivation expansion in Tongu and Ketu North. These areas are vital for enhancing the region's agricultural competitiveness and food security.

Dr. Dzoboku assured that the bank would provide tailored financial products for farmers and agribusinesses. “We are not merely opening branches,” he said. “We are building bridges between opportunity and potential.”

Atokple Tanko welcomed this approach as visionary investment for regional Ghana. He urged other corporate institutions to follow Republic Bank’s model, emphasizing public-private partnerships' importance in unlocking the region's potential.

The delegation also assessed needs at Ho Teaching Hospital during their visit. Dr. Dzoboku pledged support for addressing pressing challenges at the facility, highlighting Republic Bank’s commitment to economic and social progress.

Mr. Tanko expressed appreciation for the bank’s holistic community development approach. He remarked that when corporations partner with regions in health and agriculture, it transcends banking into nation-building.

Republic Bank’s ongoing engagement in the Volta Region sets a new standard for corporate involvement in regional transformation. Stakeholders are optimistic that this partnership will have lasting impacts for future generations.
