The Ziope Traditional Council has ordered all cattle owners to remove their livestock from the area immediately, citing widespread destruction of farmlands and water bodies.
The directive, issued in a letter signed by Paramount Chief Torgbuiga Kpechi Binah-Lawluvi VII, emphasized that Ziope's limited land is meant for crop cultivation, not cattle grazing.
Complaints from affected communities, including Wudesi, Silandra, and Kpota, prompted the decision after multiple warnings went unheeded.
The Council warned of disciplinary action against defaulters and urged local leaders to enforce compliance.
Chiefs, Assemblymen, and Unit Committee members have been tasked with safeguarding farmlands and water sources, ensuring that the directive is strictly followed.
