Sheikh Abdul Rahman Zakaria inaugurated as Ashanti Regional Chief Imam

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Zakaria has officially assumed the role of Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, following a grand inauguration in Kumasi supervised by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu.

The ceremony coincided with the final funeral rites of Sheikh Abdul Mumin Haroun, the former Regional Chief Imam, who passed on December 17, 2024, after 13 years of service to the Muslim community.

The event drew dignitaries, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and religious leaders, marking a pivotal moment for Muslims in the region.

Sheikh Zakaria, joined by Deputy Chief Imam Sheikh Abass Karaara, is tasked with uniting the diverse Muslim community and upholding fairness and integrity in leadership.
