'Nothing prevents Kotoko from appointing Zito as head coach' – Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh

Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, a former Asante Kotoko management member, supports appointing Abdul Karim Zito as the permanent coach.

With three games left in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, Zito has energized the team. He replaced Prosper Narteh Ogum and has led the Porcupines to the FA Cup final. They are also competing for the Premier League title, trailing leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by just two points.

Baah-Nuakoh is also the head of the Ghana Football Association Club Licensing Board. He stated that Kotoko's management is not obligated to avoid appointing Zito as coach.

He emphasized that it’s not just about what management wants but also about Zito's desires. “Has anyone asked him if he wants the position permanently?” he questioned on Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

Baah-Nuakoh noted that nothing prevents Kotoko from appointing Zito. However, it ultimately depends on both Zito and management reaching an agreement. If Zito is interested in coaching Kotoko and has no other plans, they can proceed with his appointment.
