2024/25 Ghana Premier League Match Report: Apostles shockingly inflict Heart of Lions defeat to thro

Young Apostles defeated Heart of Lions 3-1 on Sunday. This result shook up the Premier League title race. The loss worsened Lions' season and jeopardized their title hopes.

Nations FC and other teams are now competing for the lead. Apostles delivered an impressive performance at Wenchi Stadium. Midfielder Samuel Prempeh scored the first goal after just 10 minutes.

Apostles quickly added two more goals in the 16th and 19th minutes. Forward Foster Sakitey scored one, followed by Huseine Issah's powerful shot through Lions' defense.

Before halftime, Seedorf Asante equalized for Lions with his first top-flight goal this season. After the break, both teams missed several good chances from close range.

Apostles now have 40 points from 32 games. Heart of Lions sit fourth with 54 points, while leaders Nations FC have 60 points from 32 matches.

Lions have only won one of their two league meetings with Apostles. Their five-game unbeaten streak in the top flight has come to a harsh end.
