2024/25 Ghana Premier League Match Report: Heart of Lions lumberjack Timber Giants in Kpando

Heart of Lions easily defeated Samartex on Sunday, winning 2-1.

Yaw Danso and Nana Kwame Oppong scored for the Lions. This victory keeps them in contention for the Premier League title. Meanwhile, Samartex dropped to seventh place with 45 points. They have not won in their last five matches.

Heart of Lions started strong, scoring after just eighteen minutes. Yaw Danso took a well-placed free kick that found the net. The Lions continued to apply pressure, and Nana Kwame Oppong scored a second goal twenty minutes later.

In the 60th minute, Baba Musa from Samartex scored to reduce the deficit. However, they could not equalize despite their efforts.

With this win, Heart of Lions achieved their fifteenth consecutive league victory. They are now third in the standings, just three points behind Bibiani Gold Stars.
