Hearts of Oak played strongly against Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League. The match took place at the Accra Sports Stadium on matchday 32.
Kofi Asmah and Hamza Issah scored late goals. Enoch Asubonteng also scored early in the game. This victory marked back-to-back wins for Hearts of Oak.
Lawrence Setordjie scored a stunning long-range goal but got injured shortly after. The hosts started well, with Raphael Amponsah coming close to scoring.
In the 11th minute, Enoch Asubonteng broke from the left and scored past Daniel Afful. Accra Lions gradually improved, with Yao Sokpoli and Setordjie threatening Hearts' defense.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare made crucial saves to keep Hearts ahead. Asamoah Boateng nearly doubled the lead but his shot was cleared off the line by Hamza Issah.
After halftime, Accra Lions gained control with substitutes Daniel Acquah and Edmund Amakye. They responded with a well-taken strike from Setordjie after a corner kick.
However, they were punished for failing to clear a ball in their box. Issah set up Asmah for Hearts' second goal. Later, Issah scored himself after a quick counterattack, lobbing the ball over Afful.
