Asante Kotoko's hopes for a strong finish in the Ghana Premier League ended badly. They lost 3-1 to newcomers Vision FC. The match took place at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.
Kotoko scored first with a goal from Emmanuel Antwi. His deflected shot found the bottom corner in the 38th minute. However, Vision FC quickly equalized just two minutes later. Substitute Edmond Asante scored from close range.
In the second half, Kotoko struggled to keep up. Frank Duku took advantage of their mistakes and scored in the 81st minute. This gave Vision FC a 2-1 lead.
Duku added another goal in stoppage time, sealing Kotoko's defeat. This was their first loss under interim coach Karim Zito. The defeat leaves Kotoko in fifth place, far from the title race.
Their only hope now is the FA Cup final against Golden Kicks on June 15. Meanwhile, Vision FC finished their first top-flight season in 11th place with 45 points.
