Accra Lions coach Rainer Kraft linked with Asante Kotoko coaching job

Accra Lions coach Rainer Kraft is a top candidate for the Asante Kotoko job.

Kotoko currently lacks a permanent coach. They recently fired Prosper Narteh Ogum due to poor performance in the Ghana Premier League. Club legend Abdul Karim Zito is now the interim coach until season's end.

Reports say Kotoko has targeted Rainer Kraft for the coaching position. They plan to speak with him after the season concludes.

Accra Lions, under Kraft, are fighting relegation with three matches left. Despite this, they have shown some strong performances.

Kraft took over as head coach in January 2025, replacing Ibrahim Tanko. Tanko left to join Medeama, another Premier League team.

Currently, Kotoko is fourth in the league with 54 points. In contrast, Accra Lions sit at 16th place with 35 points.
