Akpokavie gets nod at GOC Congress

Mr. Richard Kofi Akakpovi has been elected President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC). He was voted into office at the Elective Congress on Saturday. The event took place at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Akakpovi won decisively against Mr. Michael Odum Aggrey. He received 44 votes, while Aggrey got 19 votes. This victory is seen as a reward for his hard work.

Many believe Akakpovi will help transform sports in Ghana. Over 60 delegates attended the congress from various sports federations. Observers and past GOC executives were also present, including Prof. Francis Dodoo and Mr. Peter Kpordugbe.
