Former Hearts of Oak captain Amankwaah Mireku is confident about his old club. They face rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday. This match is known as the "Super Clash." It is Ghana’s biggest football rivalry. The game will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In an interview with Ghana Sports Page, Mireku discussed the rivalry's evolution. He noted that today's matches are less predictable than before. “Hearts of Oak and Kotoko games are unpredictable,” he said. He added, “It’s not like our time when we could say we would win.”
Mireku acknowledged Asante Kotoko’s current form and league position. However, he warned against assuming they will automatically win. “It’s going to be a tough match,” he stated. “I believe Hearts of Oak still have a chance.”
The Super Clash remains a key fixture in Ghanaian football history. It is filled with pride and intense rivalry, often leading to surprises. Hearts of Oak faces scrutiny due to inconsistent performances recently. Meanwhile, Kotoko comes off a four-match winless streak.
Kick-off for the match is set for 15:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
