Asante Kotoko, a top team in the Ghana Premier League, is in talks to rehire Charles Kwablan Akonnor. This comes after they dismissed Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The club has appointed former player Abdul Karim Zito as interim coach. Zito will lead the team until the season ends. His goal is to win both the Premier League and FA Cup titles.
With four matches left this season, reports indicate that Kotoko is negotiating with Akonnor. He previously coached the club from 2018 to 2019. However, these negotiations are still early, and no agreement has been reached yet.
Recently, Asante Kotoko secured a spot in the FA Cup final. They defeated Berekum Chelsea 1-0 at TNA Park in the semifinals. Now, they will focus on their next match against Dreams FC this weekend.
This game will take place at Tuba Astro Turf during Matchday 31 of the league.
