Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has shared an important message. He warned fans that returning the club to the top will take time. He called for patience from supporters for the next season.
This season, Hearts of Oak has not met expectations. This has led to dissatisfaction among their many fans. Currently, they sit 6th in the league standings with 49 points after 31 matches.
Hearts of Oak will face Berekum Chelsea in their next match on Sunday, May 18. Recently, they surprised Berekum Chelsea by winning 1-0 at Golden City Park. This victory ended Berekum's ten-game unbeaten home streak.
In an interview with Graphic Sports, Asare discussed the club's goals. He emphasized their desire to regain dominance in domestic competitions. The team aims to outperform rivals Asante Kotoko, who may win both the FA Cup and Ghana Premier League title.
“We admit things didn’t go as we wanted,” he said. “But we urge the fans to have faith in us.” He promised that next season, they would work hard for improvement.
Hearts of Oak looks forward to continuing their success against Accra Lions on Sunday, May 25, during Matchweek 32 at Accra Sports Stadium.
