Berekum Chelsea captain Zakaria Fuseini close to joining Asante Kotoko

Berekum Chelsea captain Zakaria Fuseini is close to joining Asante Kotoko. The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of the week.

The 27-year-old centre-back is a seasoned defender in the Ghana Premier League. He has played consistently since his debut in 2014. This season, he has made 30 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio reports that Fuseini has agreed on personal terms with Kotoko. Coach Karim Zito recommended this transfer. He will take over as head coach for the 2025/26 season.

Fuseini will play a key role in the club’s rebuilding efforts. He will reunite with former Berekum Chelsea teammates Lord Amoah, Patrick Asiedu, and Henry Ansu at Kotoko.
