The Bulls RLFC, defending champions of the Rugby League Federation Ghana (RLFG) Men’s 13s Championship, started their title defense well. They defeated Panthers RLFC 20-18 last Sunday. The match took place at the University of Ghana Rugby League Stadium.
Bulls scored first with a try from Kevin Boadu in the 21st minute. The Panthers responded when Adam Marsuu scored a try in the 25th minute. Darryl Amoatey added two points with a successful conversion kick. Leslie Boadu then gave Bulls the lead again with a try in the 33rd minute. At halftime, Bulls led 8-6.
After the break, Accra Panthers took control of the game. Sadik Ahmed scored in the 48th minute, followed by Jalilu Abdul in the 54th minute. Both players had successful conversion kicks from Darryl Amoatey and Shariff Arimiyaw.
Bright Bawah's powerful effort in the 64th minute brought Bulls back into contention. The score was now even on both sides.
