C.K Akonnor endorses Youth Revolution in Black Stars setup

Former Black Stars head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor praised Ghana’s young footballers. He commended their performances and attitudes in recent call-ups to the Black Stars.

Akonnor managed the senior team from 2020 to 2021. He believes the new talents show maturity, hunger, and technical skill. In an interview with Graphic Sports, he noted players like Caleb Yirenkyi and Mohammed Fuseini.

He mentioned that the victory against Trinidad and Tobago boosted their confidence. “I like how Jordan showed great leadership on the field,” Akonnor said. This leadership will help younger players gain confidence.

Akonnor is proud to see young players he debuted becoming key members of the squad. He sees their development as a positive step for a stronger national team.

He believes these young players have great potential. Eventually, this generation will fade, allowing for new talent to emerge.

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers approaching, Akonnor stressed continuity and mentoring for young players. Game time is crucial for their growth and success.
