C.K Akonnor strongly linked with Asante Kotoko return

Former Black Stars coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor may return to Asante Kotoko. The club is searching for a new head coach.

Recently, Kotoko sacked their coach Prosper Narteh Ogum due to poor performance. They appointed Abdul Karim Zito as the new Technical Director.

Reports suggest that Kotoko might hire a permanent coach after the current season. If Zito wins the double, he could stay on as well.

According to reliable sources at Kickgh.com, the Kotoko IMC is considering keeping Zito beyond this season. They plan to strengthen his technical team with Hamza Mohammed Obeng as assistant and head coach of Young Porcupine FC.

Additionally, Akonnor's name has come up in discussions for the coaching position. The 51-year-old previously coached Asante Kotoko in the 2018/19 season. He led them to win the Normalization Committee Special Competition and qualify for the CAF Champions League.
