Chelsea target Kobbie Mainoo pushing for a £180,000 pay rise at Man Utd

Manchester United is increasingly confident that midfielder Kobbie Mainoo will stay. However, his contract situation remains unresolved, according to a new report.

Mainoo has spent time sidelined but stays in the headlines. Chelsea showed significant interest during the January transfer window. Reports suggest he prefers a move abroad after rejecting a contract extension.

A recent report from The Athletic eases concerns about Mainoo's exit. There is growing belief that he will remain at Manchester United next season. Still, his contract issues "need to be addressed." His current deal expires in 2027 and was signed in February 2023, just before his Premier League debut.

Mainoo's modest salary reflects his age and limited experience. However, given his current status, he seeks a pay increase.

He reportedly wants a weekly salary of around £180,000 (GH¢3,444,793.20). United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has focused on making cuts instead of spending money. This financial approach has led to Mainoo being available for sale.

While the club isn't actively seeking buyers, they would consider suitable offers. Mainoo is valued at approximately £70 million. Although he may not leave this summer, his future at Manchester United remains uncertain.
