Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a board member of Hearts of Oak, has a message for players. He urges them to follow the humility of their captain, Benjamin Asare.
Asare recently made his debut for the Black Stars and performed impressively. As a reward, he received a car. Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe praised Asare for staying grounded despite his rising fame.
He noted that Asare's humility has brought him admiration and rewards. “If you are good and respect the club’s leadership, gifts will come,” he said. “It’s not just about talent; character matters too.”
Dr. Tamakloe stressed how individual behavior reflects on the club. He warned that negative actions from any player could harm Hearts of Oak's image.
He added, “God willing, Asare could play in the next World Cup.” This would be a great opportunity for both him and the club.
However, he cautioned that any negative behavior could impact Hearts of Oak as well since it is a significant institution.
Despite challenges facing Hearts of Oak, Benjamin Asare has been crucial to the team. He has kept 14 clean sheets this season.
Asare is expected to return to the Black Stars squad for an upcoming tournament in the UK this month. Before that, he will lead Hearts of Oak against Accra Lions on Sunday, May 25 in Matchday 31 of the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League at Accra Sports Stadium.
