Fans will focus on foreign leagues if violence persists - Kofi Adams cautions

Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has issued a warning. He said violence in Ghanaian football stadiums could drive fans away. Fans may start focusing on foreign leagues instead.

His comments came after chaos during a match between Basake Holy Stars and Nations FC. Adams noted that violent behavior creates an unsafe environment. It also undermines the integrity of the game.

He cautioned that if this continues, 90 percent of fans will shift to foreign leagues. The Minister stressed the need for accountability in these situations. Swift disciplinary action is necessary against those who engage in violence.

"People must be punished for wrongdoing," he stated. This applies regardless of their status or political affiliation.

The Ghana Football Association has acknowledged the incident. They confirmed that an investigation is currently underway. Adams' warning underscores the importance of safety and discipline in stadiums across Ghana.
