Focus on your job - GFA's Nana Oduro Sarfo fires back at Kofi Adams over 'CLUELESS club owners' remarks

Nana Sarfo Oduro, a member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has responded to Sports Minister Kofi Adams. Adams recently called some Ghana Premier League club owners “clueless.” His comments followed violence during a match between Basake Holy Stars and Nations FC.

The game ended abruptly after Dr. Kwame Kyei and his son, Divine Kyei, were assaulted. Oduro criticized Adams on Adom TV’s “Fire for Fire.” He argued that public criticism was inappropriate and showed a lack of understanding of football administration.

Oduro said, “I don’t think the Minister for Health would criticize private hospitals publicly.” He believes if Adams understood football, he wouldn’t have made such remarks.

He also admitted that the GFA shares some blame. Oduro noted they failed to provide the Minister with important governance materials when he took office.

He stated, “We should have given him the code of ethics and regulations of the FA.” Oduro challenged Adams’ understanding of football procedures as well. He pointed out that match reports go to the GFA, not directly to the Minister.

In an appeal to President Akufo-Addo, Oduro urged for changes in sports management. He said, “I plead with the President to make the Sports Ministry active.” He added that if the Minister did his job well, stadiums wouldn’t be in poor condition.

Meanwhile, the GFA has confirmed they are investigating the violence at Ayinase.
