German-born Ghanaian defender Joshua Quarshie completes Southampton medicals ahead of his summer tra

Ghanaian defender Joshua Quarshie is close to joining Southampton.

The English Premier League side was recently relegated. They are set to sign Quarshie from TSG Hoffenheim in Germany.

Quarshie, a 20-year-old centre-back, spent the second half of last season on loan. He played for SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the 2. Bundesliga.

According to Sky Germany, he has completed his medical examination with Southampton. The transfer fee is expected to be between 3 and 3.5 million euros.

During his loan spell, Quarshie made 25 appearances for Greuther Fürth. Despite playing for Germany's U18, U19, and U20 teams, he is eligible for Ghana's national team due to his roots.
