Ghanaian international Maxwell Boakye won the topscorer award in the Burkina Faso Premier League.
He played for AS Douanes and scored 14 goals this season. This was his first season with the club.
Boakye outperformed Ibrahim Sow and Ali Barro from CF Rahimo FC. He also surpassed Mohamede Borro of ASF Bobo-Dioulasso and Pantoulou Diarra of Salitas FC, who each scored 9 goals.
The 31-year-old striker quickly became a key player for AS Douanes. He scored crucial goals that helped the team finish fifth in the league.
Boakye has experience on the African continent, having played for Club FerroviƔrio de Maputo in Mozambique.
His impressive performance has attracted interest from several clubs across Africa.
