Ghana Premier League team Hearts of Oak is looking for a new coach. They have identified Maxwell Konadu as their top choice. The club plans to appoint him at the end of the season.
Konadu last coached in South Africa. He joined Black Leopards in June but left early this year for unknown reasons.
Reports from Accra suggest that coach Aboubakar Ouatarra will likely leave Hearts of Oak. This is contrary to earlier reports stating he would stay.
The club's board is searching for a replacement. They have shortlisted three candidates: Maxwell Konadu, Prosper Narteh Ogum, and Samuel Boadu.
Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio reports that Konadu leads the race for the job. However, he faces strong competition from Prosper Narteh Ogum. The club is still deciding on the best candidate.
Hearts of Oak currently sits fifth in the league with 52 points. Their next match is against Legon Cities FC.
