It’s unfortunate RTU couldn’t qualify for Ghana Premier League – Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko

Former Real Tamale United (RTU) head coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko is disappointed. The club failed to return to the Ghana Premier League. He called the outcome unfortunate but praised the team's efforts.

RTU's promotion hopes ended last Friday. They lost 2-1 to Techiman Eleven Wonders in a playoff match. This game took place at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The match concluded a tough season for RTU. The team aimed to bounce back after being relegated last year. Their demotion was controversial, stemming from fielding unregistered players against Dreams FC.

This decision led to expectations of further sanctions. Some officials received suspensions, but the club continued in Division One League. They managed to reach the playoff round despite these challenges.

Tanko believes the team has built a solid foundation for future success. He congratulated the current coach for reaching this stage with RTU. However, he expressed regret that they could not qualify for promotion.
