Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah discussed his partnership with Kwame Opoku. This comes after his match-winning performance in the MTN FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Amoah scored the only goal at TNA Park. His goal helped Kotoko defeat Berekum Chelsea 1-0. This victory secured a spot in the final against Division One side Golden Kick.
Amoah headed home a precise cross from Baba Yahaya. This marked his eighth goal of the season across all competitions.
After the win, Amoah praised his growing connection with Opoku. He said this understanding is crucial for their attacking play.
“We’ve learned to play to our strengths,” Amoah stated. “I always know where Kwame is when we move forward.” He noted that their connection was not as strong at first.
Now, they have developed a solid understanding between them. Coaches and fans have encouraged them to improve their chemistry.
“The coaches and some fans talked to us about our link-up play,” he added. “We’ve taken those suggestions on board, and it’s made a difference.”
Kotoko will now focus on the Ghana Premier League. They face Dreams FC in an important Matchday 31 encounter on Sunday at Baba Yara Stadium.
