New Liverpool signing Jeremie Frimpong is excited about his move to Anfield. He called the decision to join the club an easy one.
In his first interview since the transfer, Frimpong shared how quickly it happened. “It went quite easy,” he said. “Liverpool came and showed interest, and it was a no-brainer for me.”
He urged his agents to act fast: “Whatever you guys do, just get this done.”
Frimpong is known for his pace and attacking flair. He promised Liverpool fans he would give everything on the pitch. “I’m going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate,” he said.
He hopes to win together with the fans: “Thank you guys for accepting me. I won’t let you down.”
Frimpong joins Liverpool after four-and-a-half seasons at Leverkusen. He made 190 appearances there, scoring 30 goals and providing 44 assists.
He was part of the Leverkusen team that won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal in 2023-24. Their record 51-match unbeaten run ended in the Europa League final.
Individually, Frimpong was named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season for two years running (2022-23 and 2023-24).
Born in Amsterdam, he started at Manchester City’s youth ranks before moving to Celtic in 2019. At Celtic, he won three major honors during his year-and-a-half stay.
Leverkusen later signed him from Celtic. In October 2023, Frimpong made his debut for the senior Dutch national team. He has since earned 12 caps and scored one goal for his country.
