Asante Kotoko legend Sarfo Gyamfi is backing Karim Zito for the technical director job. He believes Zito can help develop players for the Porcupine Warriors.
Zito recently returned to Kotoko as the new technical director and interim coach. This followed the sacking of Prosper Narteh Ogum due to poor results in the Ghana Premier League.
The experienced trainer has made significant progress since joining from Dreams FC. He has led Kotoko to the FA Cup finals and is still in contention for the league title with three games left.
In an interview with Kessben FM, Gyamfi praised Zito’s abilities. He stated that Zito could effectively develop players as a technical director.
“Zito is a coach I like,” he said. “I have no issues if he becomes head coach or stays as technical director. He is known for discovering talent, especially from his time at Dreams FC.”
Gyamfi noted that Zito successfully built a new team this season after losing many players to foreign clubs.
Asante Kotoko will face Bibiani Goldstars in matchday 32 of the Ghana Premier League this weekend. It promises to be an exciting match, as both teams seek points for their title ambitions.
